Week 8

The movie opening, the creative critical reflections, and this whole blog is due on Monday April first. This week my main focus was getting my creative critical reflections done.

Today I am going to film my podcast which is answering question number three, "How did your production skills develop throughout this project?" My mom and I are going to film. Basically, the podcast belongs to my mom and her name in the podcast is Tammy. The podcast is called, "Creator's Around the World." It is about Tammy who interviews different creators of different films, and I appear on it to talk about my movie "Caged" and how my skills developed throughout production. I filmed the podcast on an app called PodCastle. It is a podcasting app that lets you record your podcast and then export it into CapCut where I edited sounds into it. I pulled all the sound effects onto YouTube. I screen-recorded the parts I needed off of YouTube and then hid the screen record image so just the sound effect would play. It took me about 3 hours to edit and make sure the podcast flowed together. After the podcast was done and fully edited, I went into an app called PicsArt and started to make a cover photo. I decided a paper airplane background would be a different view on traveling, compared to a normal airplane. That is why the background is full of paper airplanes. Then I got a microphone picture off of the internet and cut it out with a cut out tool in PicsArt and added it to the cover. Then I took a picture of the earth from the gallery and put it on there as well. After I saved the cover to my phone and then layered it on top of my podcast audio in CapCut, and then I was done with the first creative critical reflection.

My next goal from here is to create my movie poster and film my voice over.

Our Movie Opening

Day Two of Filming week 5

Our second production day was on Monday February 26, 2024. Peyton, Meadow, Ella, Sydney, Ella's dad (Clayton), and I arrived back at Big Cat Habitat to finish our filming. We all arrived at 4:30. The equipment we ended up using again was just the steady camera holder. We decided to arrive around the same time to make sure the lighting would look close to the same as the first production day. The first scene we started with was with Ella's dad jumping out and confronting us. Since that shot was filmed as a Point of View shot in my character's point of view, I stood behind a fence that was off-screen and signaled to Ella's dad when he should pop out. I would look at where the girls were stepping and when they were close to a line on the pavement in front of the gift shop I would signal a thumbs-up to Ella's dad to jump out. Then we filmed the chasing scene at different angles for the next 30 minutes. After we went to shoot the scenes of us locking ourselves into...

Week 2

Now I am onto week two of our final project! This week I have started our story boards, and I am beginning to write our script. In order to start our storyboard my group and I all decided the script needed to be finished first. Before I could start to write the script, my group and I had to figure out the characters and how they were going to act. In the end my group and I decided on making me the nervous character, Sydney was going to be the aggressive character telling me to suck it up, and the other two weren't going to be scared or confident, more on the neutral side. We also decided we were going to film on 2/19/24 and 2/22/24. This way we have two days to make sure we can get the shots we want. Our costumes are still the same as of right now. The plan is still black ski mask, black pants, black long sleeves, black long pants, and black/neutral-colored shoes. Meadow and I are both planning on the characters showing the least amount of skin possible. This way it...
