Finally, I am writing my script for my last creative critical reflection. For my 4th and final creative critical reflection, I am going to be doing a PowerPoint with a voiceover.
CREATIVE CRITICAL REFLECTION 4:
Question: How did you integrate technologies- software, hardware and online- in this project?
Script:
Slide 1:
The most important tool besides a computer that helped throughout this project had to be a flash drive.
The flash drive was like the brain of this whole thing.
Without the flash drive, there was no project because it had all the audio files on it, the different clips we had to put together, sound effects that we transferred into an Mp3, and the finished movie opening.
Slide 2:
My group and I had to be very careful when it came to our flash drive. If we lost it, we would be in deep trouble because all our progress would be lost.
For example, if we were completely done with our movie opening, but we misplaced our flash drive or left it behind, all the work we would have done would've been for nothing.
Slide 3:
We used a Steady Camera Holder to ensure while filming, the person recording wouldn’t have to worry about whether their hands are shaking, causing the footage to be shaky. The steady camera holder really helped our shots be still and clear for the audience.
We also used an iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 14 for recording. The camera quality on those phones was close to perfect, but nothing can be perfect. It also made the pictures and footage clear. The biggest thing with filming is making sure no shots are blurry because that is not an enjoyable movie for an audience to watch. It won’t really captivate anyone.
Slide 4:
An online website that helped a bunch during this project was everyone’s favorite, YouTube. It was used to find sound effects that my group and I wanted to use in our movie opening. The links of the sounds would be taken from YouTube and then put into an Mp3 converter website. This would convert the sound link into an Mp3 file. Then it would be able to get saved onto a flash drive and then into adobe premiere pro.
Slide 5:
Speaking of sound, we had microphones accessible which we used in our midterm project, but the quality of them when it comes to movie making it is the best. On Adobe Premiere Pro though, there is an option where you can lower or turn up your sound. It works for sound effects, background sounds, or even dialogue. It sounded a lot clearer and less choppy. The wind would really get caught on the microphone and using the sound from what the phone caught directly really helped to lower that problem.
Slide 6:
Although producing a movie opening was fun, it wasn’t always a smooth process. The iPhone 14 pro max we were filming on died halfway through production on the second day. We checked all phones to see which phone’s camera quality was close to the iPhone 14 pro max’s and that was when we decided to use the iPhone. Another technical issue that occurred was during editing. All the sounds were put into the movie and the volume of each sound effect, background noise, and dialogue was perfected, so it didn’t hit the top of the sound bar or reach the bottom of it. Accidentally, all the project was selected meaning all the clips, sounds, and texts instead of just one specific sound effect. Without realizing the volume, all sounds turned down. The solution was simple yet repetitive because we had to re-adjust all the volumes back to where they were because the back button, control z, didn’t work. One of my main jobs when it came to editing was making sure the sounds were on the flash drive and converted into an Mp3, so it was ready to be added. I collected all sounds and found an Mp3 website, but for some reason the computer I was using wouldn’t let me put the downloaded Mp3 into the flash drive. To fix this problem, I sent all the YouTube links for the sounds to Mr. Zacharias, and he ended up being successful in putting the Mp3 links onto the flash drive.
Now that I have all my scripts done for all four of my creative critical reflections, I am going to start filming and editing next week.
