Pre-Production Roles:
For pre-production we all had roles to make sure the process was smooth, and we could progress to our next step which would be filming. In charge of makeup is Peyton. For makeup Peyton decided on a natural look, so it would really help sell the image of ordinary people who were breaking in. It made sure the robbers weren't out of the ordinary and didn't stand too much out. Meadow and I are in charge of costumes. We worked together to find the most appropriate apparel for our movie. We decided on black long-sleeves, black leggings/flare black leggings/black joggers, and the shoes needed to be neutral color or black. The full black attire gives off a mysterious vibe and leaves the viewers wondering who they are and what business they have breaking into Big Cat Habitat. Our location manager is Ella, so she found the perfect location that would fit our movie, "Caged." She chose Big Cat Habitat because she owns it and it would be an easy location that we could film at. Since she owns it we were able to go there after closing, so it would make our movie realistic like we were actually breaking in. I was the main person who did the storyboards. I came up with many different camera angles, shots, lighting, and sound that I believed would fit the opening the best. The storyboard gave me a good idea of what we had to get down while filming and helped me portray that idea to my group. I also made sure to run my ideas by them to make sure they agreed or if they wanted to add any input. Then I would go back to the storyboards and make any additional changes to it.
Production Roles:
For production we also had roles to make sure the filming process would go smoothly. Our director was Ella. She will tell us when to end the scene, cut if we mess up, and when to start the scene. Having a director will help the process run smooth and make sure everyone is into place and not goofing off. She will make sure we don't waste time and filming is in order. This way we have a person to make sure everything runs smoothly and doesn't run off the rails. Basically she will insure that we have a movie that is filmed. Yet again Peyton will double check and make sure everyone's makeup is perfect to begin production. While filming I will make sure the sound sounds good after every take to make sure it is able to be understood to the viewer. In our midterm our audio was kind of choppy, so I am going to make sure it is improved when we do the final filming for this opening. Meadow and I also make sure the lighting is choppy and that it matches the opening theme. We are planning on our opening having natural lighting because it takes place outside for the entire opening. Ella, as the director, also wanted to film because she enjoys it. During the movie Peyton, Meadow, Sydney (a guest actor), Clayton Sr (Ella's dad), and I were actors in our opening film. Aila (another guest actor) was going to act in our opening as a person who breaks in as well, but she couldn't make it to the production days. My group and I ended up making the decision not to use her.
Post-Production Roles:
For post-production we will split the work to get our opening done and edited. All four of us have decided we should take turns editing. Since only one person can edit at a time, we all make sure we agreed on sounds we were going to use and if they fit our opening. We are going to go for more ambient sounds, so it would give off more of an eerie vibe. My job is to make sure we got all the sounds onto a flash drive and then onto adobe premiere pro. Adobe premiere pro is the editing app we had used for everything that needed to be edited all year. To make sure our clips flowed well into each other, we are going to try to transition our clips in together by fading into each other. After we will have to work on our ccr questions.
